Principal's Message

Dear Walter White Families,

I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community and look forward to working with you and your children.

All signs point to another incredible and productive school year!  Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your child(ren).  To those who are new to Walter White we hope that you will quickly feel at home and become involved in the activities of our school through our Parent S.T.A.R.S group and your child’s classroom program.

This will be my fifth year working at Walter White and I truly believe our students, families and staff are in a special place. I feel honored to work with the Walter White staff, families, and community.

I will work diligently with parents and staff to foster an atmosphere that promotes a positive learning community.  We know that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.  As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and we want you to know that we will do our best to carry out these responsibilities.

As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and we want you to know that we will do our best to carry out these responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

  1. Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
  2. Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
  3. Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
  4. Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
  5. Informs you if he/she needs additional support in an area/subject
  6. Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go to college

School Construction on 6th StreetIf you drove past the school this summer, you may have noticed the construction project on 6th street.  This construction project will include the construction of a black gate at the front of the school, a new entrance into the main office, new marquee sign, repavement of 6th street, a new sidewalk and parking spaces.  The road/school construction will last 3-4 months and will unfortunately disrupt traffic and parking during that time.  We ask that you be patient while we wait for the end result.
